About the team
I served as the only designer for this project, liaising directly with our client. Toward the latter phases, I worked in unison with a group of developers tasked with transforming the initial idea into a working application. This teamwork required supplying them with the requisite design resources to guarantee a smooth changeover from the ideation phase to its actual development.

financial risks for banks
Problem
statement
Okay, here's the deal: in the banking world, data analysis is a big deal. Banks use fancy models to make decisions based on all that data. But here's the catch - these models aren't always accurate. Sometimes they give wrong answers, which can lead to banks losing a ton of money. Plus, there are all sorts of rules and regulations that banks have to follow to manage these risks, but they don't have a good solution for it. So, what we need is a simple and effective way for banks to manage the risks associated with these models, follow the rules, and make smart decisions that don't break the bank.
🤔 Confusing User Experience
Overview of old UI
Process
Mid fidelity wireframes
Dive into the wireframes created for the project, showcasing a user-centric approach. These wireframes offer a visual representation of the intuitive designs that prioritize usability, efficient navigation, and seamless interactions, ensuring a delightful user experience.
High fidelity wireframes
We created two versions of high-fidelity screens, each offering a refined and polished user interface, providing users with options to choose the design that best suits their preferences and needs, resulting in an enhanced and customizable user experience.
Project overview
The dashboard redesign aims to improve the user interface, enhance usability, and align the system with regulatory requirements for more effective decision-making.
In the dashboard redesign, we prioritized user accessibility and data visualization. By adding an overview of projects and uploaded datasets, users can easily track progress. Completed projects are now prominently displayed at the top for quick reference. Additionally, users can choose to view detailed projects in either grid or card format, allowing for a personalized experience. The inclusion of filters, such as data validation and monitoring, enhances user efficiency in managing and analyzing data.
Data ingestion
The dashboard redesign aims to improve the user interface, enhance usability, and align the system with regulatory requirements for more effective decision-making.
USER SCENARIO
Data ingestion is the process of collecting and importing data from various sources into a centralized system or database for analysis.
SOLUTION
In data ingestion, we enhanced the user interface by adding a dataset list's table. Now, hovering over the rows provides four options: a toggle to switch datasets on/off for usage, view details, and delete, streamlining dataset management for a more intuitive experience.
SOLUTION
We enhanced the screen with an "Import Dataset" feature that allows users to easily import flat files, SQL, p-sql, S3 Bucket (AWS), and sas data, providing a seamless and diverse data ingestion experience.
Grid and operations area
Operations: The operations area provides users with an interface to select specific tasks and datasets, run jobs, and manage data ingestion processes, enabling efficient task execution and control over data management operations.
Grid: The grid area is a section in the user interface that displays a visual representation of ongoing and completed tasks in a tabular format, offering users a comprehensive view of job status and progress.
PROBLEM
The current job queue lacks an organized and user-friendly interface, causing difficulty for users to manage and monitor their tasks efficiently.
SOLUTION
To enhance the user experience of the job queue, we introduced three tabs at the top: operations, console, and grid. Under the 'operations' tab, users can now easily view all the jobs that are running. We've also added separate tabs for 'failed' and 'completed' jobs, providing users with a clear and organized overview. The new UI allows users to effortlessly view and delete individual jobs, streamlining task management and making the job queue a more user-friendly and efficient tool.
PROBLEM
Inefficient UI in taskbar, console, and grid tabs leads to confusion in selecting operations, datasets, and interpreting graphs. UI redesign required for a seamless user experience.
SOLUTION
We redesigned the taskbar with "operations," "console," and "grid" tabs at the top. Now, users can easily select operations and datasets, run jobs, and view graphical representations of their tasks. The improved UI enhances the user experience, making it more intuitive and visually engaging.
Toggle switch in the bottom
On the same page, we added a toggle at the bottom, allowing users to switch between table and graphical views. This feature provides a simple way to choose their preferred representation for a more customized and user-friendly experience.
SOLUTION
In the grid area, users can find a comprehensive representation of data through charts and tables.
The charts visually display various insights and trends derived from the data. The table presents detailed information in a structured format. Additionally, users can interact with the data using parameters, adjusting filters or settings to customize their view and derive meaningful insights from the displayed information.
Automated documentation
Automated documentation is a process of automatically generating comprehensive and up-to-date documentation for software or systems, saving time and effort in manual documentation tasks while ensuring accuracy and consistency in the documentation.
Document Template
A document template is a pre-designed format for creating consistent and standardized documents.
SOLUTION
We designed a fully editable template with an intuitive artboard interface, empowering users to easily modify text, insert paragraphs, tables, images, and adjust font sizes and more, providing flexible and creative control over document customization
Console
In computing, a console is a text-based interface or command-line interface that allows users to interact with a computer system or application using text commands, providing access to system functions, logs, and task execution without a graphical user interface (GUI).
In the custom functions, users have the option to choose between dark mode or light mode for the application's visual appearance. This flexibility allows users to personalize their experience based on their preferences for either a darker or lighter interface.
We streamlined the user interface by presenting separate lists for operations and datasets, allowing users to easily select one option from each list and execute the operation. This enhancement emphasizes simplicity and user efficiency, simplifying the process of running operations and datasets.
Inventory
Inventory refers to the comprehensive collection of all financial models, datasets, and related documents used by banks for various data analysis and decision-making activities. This inventory is crucial for managing and organizing the resources required for efficient and informed business operations.
We enhanced the system by enabling users to select models and datasets and easily share them with multiple recipients using checkboxes. The addition of a pop-over window with a 'To' input field streamlines the sharing process, offering a more intuitive and user-friendly experience.
Graphs
We introduced graphs for models and job tasks' output, providing visual representations of data for easier analysis and comprehension, enhancing the overall user experience with improved data visualization.
